Frequently asked questions

Where are my club's scores stored?

In this browser, on this device, in the browser's own IndexedDB storage. There is no server and no account, so nothing you type is uploaded. Clearing this site's data deletes the club book, so export a backup file from the desk and keep it somewhere safe.

Do my members' names ever leave my browser?

No. Names, scores and club records stay in this browser. Printing and saving a PDF happen on your own computer, and backup files are made inside the page and handed straight to you. Members need no account and install nothing.

Where do the handicap and classification numbers come from?

From a TypeScript port of archeryutils, the open source library by Jack Atkinson that implements the Archery GB handicap and classification schemes and the Archery Australia handicap scheme. The port is tested against every number in that library's own test suite.

Which schemes are covered?

Archery GB handicaps and the 2026 outdoor, indoor and field classifications, and Archery Australia handicaps (ratings). Archery Australia classifications are not included.

Are averages rounded up or down?

Down by default. Since the 2023 scheme an average that is not a whole number is rounded down, which is what Archery Geekery (4 April 2023), Glasgow Archers and the Golden Records scheme changes page say, and what Archery GB's classification and handicap FAQ says. Some club pages still say rounded up, which was the rule before 2023. The Archery GB page itself could not be opened on 27 September 2026, so check your county's practice and change this if it differs.

When are handicaps and classifications reassessed?

Outdoor handicaps and classifications restart on 1 January and indoor on 1 July (Archery Geekery, Wymondham Archers, Glasgow Archers). The start value for the new season is the average of the best three handicaps of the season just ended; with fewer than three, what was shot is averaged with the previous season's start value (Archery Geekery). Field is kept on the outdoor calendar here; change it if your county runs field differently.

Which scores count?

Handicaps and classifications come from official rounds, so only scores marked as witnessed count unless you change this. For classifications, practice counts only towards the Archer tier, competitive events such as club target days count towards Bowman, and record status events towards Master Bowman.

Who verifies a classification or 252 claim?

Claims are verified by your records officer. The desk prints the claim with the scores behind it; outdoor and field Master Bowman and higher are awarded by Archery GB, not the club. The indoor scheme, Master Bowman included, is run by clubs.

Can I bring my records over from other software or a spreadsheet?

Yes, through a spreadsheet saved as CSV with one row per score. Match its columns to the fields, check the import, and every row that cannot be placed is listed with its row number before anything is saved.

Is this free?

The single score calculator, one handicap shoot results sheet of up to 20 archers, a ledger of up to 10 archers and every guide are free, forever, and so is a plain export of your club book. Premium adds unlimited archers and seasons, the reassessment report, club records, awards tracking, the improvement report, the Archery Australia profile, CSV import and export, and encrypted backup.

Is Endbook connected to Archery GB or any governing body?

Endbook is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Archery GB, Archery Australia, Archery New Zealand, World Archery or any county or regional archery association.
